Which schools are ideal for me

    Hello,

to understand what so-called "top schools" ask for and how much the criteria differ depending on the respective school, I recommend you to read the survey The MIM - Entry requirements for the Master in Management. Here you learn about the admissions criteria that 53 international MIM programs apply to select their students.

Next, to assess whether "top schools" really are the best addresses for you and your specific needs and resources, I recommend you to read my eBook Business Masters - How you find the best Master in Management or MBA. MIM programs from "top schools" provide advantages but they also have their price and selection criteria. And as to my experience, choosing a "top school" is not necessarily the best decision for everyone. Maybe a decent school with specific contacts to a specific employers and with lower tuition fees and selection criteria is totally sufficient for someone.

As for the MIM or MBA decision, please read my article MBA vs MIM. In general, it depends on your current situation (how satisfying is it for you? can you wait for another year or do you need education now?) and on your future plans (are you looking for an entry position or for an advanced position after graduation?).

    Best wishes,
    Thomas

    Hey all,
I am recently wondering if I should apply for MiM in top colleges because of two reasons:

    1. Whether it is a worth enough investment for someone with 1.5 years of work ex at the time of application?
    2. Is my profile good enough for top schools for MiM?

    My profile:
I have done my engineering in Electronics and Instrumentation from BITS Pilani Hyderabad and graduated in 2018 with a cgpa of 6.97 (which is low). I joined a non profit organisation named ' Deshpande foundation' after that and worked in education and skilling for one year. I have recently shifted to a startup called 'Bounce' and am working as an Associate program manager in operations department.
I have internship experience of 6 months in J.P. Morgan and 1.5 months at IIM Indore.
Extracurriculars- I have won National level awards in Kathak dancing(2nd position) and was a part of classical dancing club in all years of college with experiences in organizing events in the same.
I am planning to apply for 2020 Sept, in LBS, HEC, ESSEC.
GRE score- 309 ( planning to take it again)

I wanted to understand what should I improve and how probable is it for someone like me to get into top schools?
Also, is it more advisable to wait for one more year and apply for MBA rather than MIM, since they prefer freshers more?

    Thanks in Advance.
