The MSc HRM has been developed to produce graduates capable of making a difference in the HR arena. This one year programme is approved by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) as meeting the knowledge requirements that are pre-requisite for Chartered Membership or Chartered Fellowship of the CIPD.

  • There is a unique opportunity to complete a consultancy project working for a real client on a live brief.
  • You will complete a comprehensive development programme, which includes a short residential team-building course, usually held in the Peak District.
  • You can learn from the best by attending guest lectures from leading organisations. Previous speakers have included representatives from organisations such as E.ON, Lego, Experian, Santander, and IBM.
  • You can build your skills and knowledge further with extra-curricular activities such as joining a society, volunteering, becoming a Student Ambassador.

The following core modules will give you a solid grounding in HRM, providing you with a greater understanding and knowledge of human resource practice in contemporary organisations.

  • People Resourcing and Talent Management
  • Learning and Talent Development
  • Research Methods and Professional Skills
  • Applied Consultancy Project.

Specialist modules include:

Specialist modules develop skills and knowledge in an area of your own particular interest. In your second term you will complete three specialist modules. The specialist options we offer may include:

  • Performance Management
  • Reward Management
  • HRM in an International Environment
  • Managing Employee Relations and Employee Engagement
  • Designing, Delivering and Evaluating Learning and Development Provision
  • CSR and Diversity in HRM.

  • You will need an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK undergraduate honours degree (2.2 or above) preferably in a business related subject.
  • One academic or vocational reference is required.
