Description

In the competitive environment of business, companies are increasingly selective in their choice of new recruits. Whilst a good first degree will provide a strong foundation for career development, a Durham Masters aims to give you a head start by providing you with both general and specialist management knowledge that can be applied in a wide range of organisational settings. This additional knowledge can improve employability and support career enhancement.

The one-year, full-time programme is a generalist career entry degree that provides a framework for critically analysing the nature, processes and practices of management. It is designed to be academically challenging, but also to develop the skills and knowledge that employers demand. It is an excellent platform both for a future general management or specialist career, or doctoral research.

A Skills Development Programme runs alongside the taught academic programme and ensures that Durham Masters graduates possess the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to excel in the business world. The programme includes a schedule of guest speakers, including senior executives from national and international businesses, skills workshops and company visits.

As part of your programme you may have the opportunity to enhance your study experience by participating in an International Study Tour to a European destination. This opportunity is self-funded.

Whatever your individual needs, our Careers Advice Service works with you to help you identify your career aspirations and give you the opportunity to develop the skills that will help maximise your chances of achieving these.
