    Hello,

    I am an Indian student.
I have two years of work experience in IT as a JAVA developer.
I have an offer from Imperial College Business school for MSc Management and from Warwick business school for MSc Information systems management.

I am unable to make a choice.
Please could you advice. I am not sure about the scope of the two in India.
    Thank you.

    Regards,
    Pooja

        Dear Anju,

MBA and MIM (Master in Management) programs are GENERAL MANAGEMENT programs. You will receive an overview on the most important management areas such as Marketing, Strategy, Finance, or HR Management. You will NOT become an expert in one of these areas but you will get a decent overview.

If you want to know specific subjects I recommend you to visit the websites of some schools and read the curriculum.
If you are interested in understanding the difference between MBA and MIM I recommend you to read our article about Differences between MBA and MIM.

        Best wishes

      Hi Pooja,

the first question you should ask yourself is: What are you interested in?

The MSc in Management at Imperial College Business School is a GENERAL MANAGEMENT program. In this program you receive an overview on different management disciplines such as Marketing, Finance, or Strategy.

In contrast, the MSc Information Systems Management at Warwick Business School is a SPECIALIZED Management program. You do NOT get an overview on several management disciplines. Instead you receive in-depth knowledge in one specific area (Information Systems Management).

So, what are you interested in?

The second question you could ask yourself is: What do you want to do directly after graduation?

If you want to become and work as a specialist in IT Management then maybe the Master at Warwick makes sense. If you are more interested in general management or project management jobs then the MSc at Imperial College makes sense.

      Best wishes
      Thomas
