    Hello sir ,

Kush Wadhawan here . I have a friend who have offers from Australia and newzealand from top universities for Feb/March intake 2016

    He has offers from:

Uni Melbourne : master of management (finance)
Monash uni : master of banking and finance
Uni Auckland : master of management

Actually he likes all the programmes for which he has offers and he has also read you mim e - book .

He likes Auckland university master of management program the most as it also have more practical based subjects in it like capstones etc.

He wants to work in Asia after completion of degree and post study work permit . He says Australia provides more opportunities than newzealand in terms of jobs . Also Melbourne uni and monash university are highly ranked as compared to Auckland university .

    He asks :
Is university of Auckland business school globally recognised and have a good reputation in Asia ? That (Auckland uni) program fits his career goals and he loves that program as it also provides internship opportunity .

    What should he do?

    Thanks
    Kush Wadhawan

      hi Kush,

great that your friend has received these offers and that he has analyzed the programs already. Also, great that he has read my eBook already. But now he should start to apply what he has learned there and what I recommend so that he can find answers himself.

I suggest that he re-reads the chapter on INVESTIGATION, starting with the READ and TALK to section. Which of these tips can help him find out if this program has a good reputation in Asia? Thinking 5 minutes about this chapter should help him find ideas how to find this out.

For example, he should my Rankings section and follow my advice to collect several rankings on a school, not just the specific program rankings. This provides him information about the schools visibility in Asia (with Asian Rankings) or globally (with global rankings).

In the Talk-to section I recommend to talk to admissions people about the firms coming on the campus to recruit. If no Asian firm comes, well maybe not the best choice for someone who wants to work in Asia.

Or I recommend contacting target emloyers and just ask them if they know and like the school...

I am sure he will be creative and find more ideas based on my suggestions (what about asking the school itself what they think about their reputation...?).

      Best wishes
      Thomas

        thanks

My friend have decided to go to Australia and have to chose between following :

University of Sydney (master of commerce)
University of Melbourne (master of management (finance)
University of New South Wales (master of commerce (finance)
Monash university (master of banking and finance)

which is the best among these? I recommended him to go for a course he liked as all these universities are internationally recognised . What do you say ?

        Thanks

          Hi there,

why doesn't he apply the methodology outlined in my eBook? You said he read it. So why not applying the methodology one by one. For example, have a look at the chart in the Summary chapter. Here you see the key points. And then go back to the chapter and read them to know what to do.

As outlined there, he must define his career goals and his experience goals (chapter 1). This is what he WANTS.

Then he needs to analyse (1) the career benefits and (2) the experience benefits of these programs and compare them (chapter 2).

How can he do that? Read chapter 3.

Still unsure which program to chose? Read chapter 4...

          Best wishes
          Thomas
